Night Out!

I strolled down the road, the same old one
Trodden many a time, silent and lone;
Thinking aloud this time, heard, unheard,
Footsteps beside me, matching my pace.

The winds spoke aloud ,to me and to her
I smiled, sobbed, sighed, missing her eye;
And she too mused, belying her surges.
We walked together, yet miles apart.

Thunders hit my ears as i fingered the keys
That evoked responses to my idle pursuit,
From bodies hidden by distance, and minds
Soaring out of reach, in the same world as mine.

As the last man awake, bid me adieu, leaving me
In the fragrance of the earth ruffled by the new rain,
A face i gave to the reflections of my inner eye,
Penning the strands of thought into words.

The dawn welcomed me with an orange buzz,
And i realized the night has become day again.
Wonder how short is the while that flips by as,
People walk in and out of our lives, in tandem!
